The Great Rain of Stars

A spectacular celestial event occurred across the nights of 1490 DR, where fragments of the "Blue Fire" lingering in the upper atmosphere finally burned out or fell to Toril as inert, beautiful meteor showers. For nearly a tenday, the sky was filled with streaks of shimmering azure light that did not burn or cause the mutations associated with the original plague.

Culturally, the people of Faerûn treated this as a divine sign that the Spellplague was truly, finally purged from the world. In cities like Waterdeep and Silverymoon, festivals were held to mark the "Final Purification," and for the first time in a century, the common folk felt that the sky was no longer a source of terror, but a source of wonder once again.
