This period, often called "The Beginning of the End," was marked by a sudden, desperate escalation in world conflicts. The Netherese and Thayans, sensing that their era of absolute magical chaos was coming to a close, launched several last-ditch efforts to secure their power before the laws of reality shifted back. It was the calm before the storm of the Second Sundering—a moment of global realization that the world as it had been for a hundred years was about to die.
